Improvement of Infrastructure
AKIM continuously builds and improves its facilities to better serve the developmentally disabled.
Arazim Hostel
The Arazim Hostel in Ashkelon which was built more than 25 years ago is deteriorating and in great need of a full renovation and new equipment. This hostel will serve as:
- residence for 22 developmentally disabled adolescents,
- short stay respite center for 6 developmentally disabled adolescents
Residents will receive 24-hour-a-day year-round treatment and supervision. They will also receive therapeutic services, nursing and medical care, psychological and social services, meals and maintenance, laundry and cleaning services, rehabilitation treatments, social activities and sports.
The estimated time to complete the project is approximately 18 months.
Social Centers
AKIM will construct 2 new social centers and refurbish one in Nahriyah, Ramle and Afek respectively.
Senior Hostel- Tel Aviv
In Tel Aviv, AKIM is constructing an additional building to a pre-existing hostel to provide 20-24 seniors with 24 hour constant care, therapy, and supervision. They will also receive therapeutic services, nursing and medical care, psychological and social services, meals and maintenance, laundry and cleaning services, rehabilitation treatments, social activities and sports.
